- Continue South along Brighton Rd. At beginning of rise to Ocean Blvd enter right lane to turn right into Scholefield Rd.
- After going across roundabout, take next right along Kauri Parade
- At roundabout, turn left along Singleton Rd to cross over train line
- Take next left along Bandon Terrace
- Take second right along Strickland Rd
- By continuing straight, that road becomes Burnham Rd, which curves left to go along the beach front, where you will see a car park for the Reserve.
Those roads were clear when I drove that way on Tuesday of last week, but today I found Scholefield Rd. is now closed after the first 50 metres for major roadworks until late September – perfect timing for our visit over the next few weeks!
I was able to turn around in Scholefield Rd. to drive North on Brighton Rd.
The road signs then directed me to:
- Continue on Brighton Rd. for a few blocks and then turn left onto Wheatland St. (I think the first two streets are clear, but they are narrow);
- Immediately before crossing the train line, turn left onto Kauri Parade, and continue three blocks to the roundabout to turn right onto Singleton Rd., as per step 3 above.
The shorter route would be to turn right from Brighton Rd. onto Wheatland St. (there is a short turn right lane) and then turn left into Kauri Pde., but that Brighton Rd. intersection can be busy.
